Project summary
The project was carried out to identify the prospects of the territory for the presence of hydrocarbon deposits with total area of imaging over 25000 sq.km
- Project Name Remote exploration for hydrocarbons
- Category Aerial imaging, Exploration
- Feature The total area of the survey is over 25,000 sq.km.
- Location Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, Tumen region
- Year 2013
PURPOSE
Multi-zone aerial survey by “Eagle” scanner to determine the hydrocarbon potential of licensed areas in order to further optimize the complex of ground exploration and identify the feasibility of concluding license agreement
PROBLEM AND SOLUTION
The client set a task of imaging for 17 license areas located in five separate districts. Taking into account the estimated area of the survey, it was decided to use a TU-134CX jet aircraft as a carrier. The imaging height was 6100 meters.
The air work was carried out in the following timeframe: August 11 to August 23, 2013 – the period most favorable for obtaining pronounced anomalies of the impact of hydrocarbons on the soil layer and vegetation.
Presence of reference objects in territories adjacent to the license areas under study was a favorable factor, which made it possible to accelerate thematic processing of the information received.
Geographical location of the five imaging areas
RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS
The execution of works according to the technical task of the Client made it possible to obtain additional information about 19 license blocks along the way during the aerial work on imaging 17 license blocks, and the imaging area completely covered 13 of them, and for remaining 6 blocks the coverage area was from 50 to 70%. The total area of the survey was 25,560 square kilometers.
